Ronce-les-Bains

Ronce Les Bain is a seaside town situated at the northern tip of the Arvert peninsula close to the mouth of the Seudre estuary. There are a number of very attractive villas dating from the late 19th century when sea bathing was just becoming popular together with more recent property. The beach has views across to the Ile d'Oleron but can be quite muddy, rather than sandy, at low tides. The town comes to life during the summer season with plenty of shops and facilities for holiday makers but in the winter is almost deserted.
