Cote Sauvage Beach
The Cote Sauvage is a 10 km stretch of sandy beach running from St Palais to Ronce Les Bains. A huge forest of pine trees mixed with gorse and other wild flowers runs down to the beaches which face the Atlantic ocean making them quite unique. The beaches are completely unspoilt and even in high season you can find plenty of empty space.
A paradise for surfers, fishermen, beachcombers and sunworshipers alike. These are beaches to visit at any time of the year.
There are few facilities. Access to the beach can be had via several small roads leading off the D25 coast road such as La Bouverie (fairly long walk to the beach through the pine forest) or Pointe Espagnole (fairly big car park near to the beach and a surprisingly good mobile cafe during August).
Take care, especially with children, as the tide and currents can be dangerous.
